Meal Preparation Basics

Meal prep means preparing some food ahead of time to make healthy choices easier during the week.

Pick 2–3 recipes, check your grocery list, and batch-cook grains and proteins.

Cool cooked food quickly and refrigerate within 2 hours.

Most cooked leftovers keep 3–4 days in the refrigerator.

Practical examples

  • Cook a pot of rice and a tray of chicken on Sunday for several bowls.
